When I think about this booking I still feel pretty relaxed. I saw the One-Dollar Freeze option on QEEQ and my first thought was that it was kind of made for me. I had a business trip to Saint Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and my schedule was not very stable. I still had to book a car or my work could be affected. Around May 24 I picked my car online. It was a Dodge Durango with Budget, automatic and 7 seats. When I got to the payment step I saw I only needed to pay 1 dollar first to lock the car. I felt calm right away. I even told my coworker “I just spend 1 dollar to hold the car and fix the rest later.” He thought I was joking. When it was around May 26 in the afternoon at about four I was already in Saint Thomas getting ready to go to the counter to pick up the car. I suddenly remembered that the rest of the money was already charged before. I did not really think about it much. My phone just had one charge message. Everything was very quiet and simple. I really liked that. I did not feel a big push on my credit card at the start. On the pickup day the counter staff checked my info and it all went smooth. I could focus more on my work and not on the booking. When I think back I feel that if I had to pay all the money at once I might wait and think too long especially when my trip plan was still changing. I returned the car around June 1 at noon in Saint Thomas. Drop off was also quick. During the whole trip I did not worry much about the money side because the One-Dollar Freeze made the payment pace feel very light. For someone like me who travels for business a lot this kind of split payment is really useful and it keeps me from feeling too much pressure when my plans keep moving.
